I had unfortunately booked through Expedia for a number of flights in August but due to COVID had to be cancelled. This has let me through the most excruciating experience dealing through the call centre being punted backwards and forwards on multiple occasions trying to retrieve a refund. After multiple calls I eventually received an email on the 27/1/21 advising that my refund was raised with the airline on the 20/11/20 and the application authorised on the 3/12/20. However my refund may take up to 8-12 weeks to be credited to my account from the date of authorisation. I was asked to wait until the given timeline and based on this information would be 3/3/21. I waited until the 16/3/21 to contact Expedia only to be placed on hold for a significant period only to be finally told I would need to contact the airlines. My frustration was exceedingly high as this has been going on for months. I contacted the airline who were very helpful and advised that I would need o speak with Expedia as the refund had been sent to them in the second billing period in December. So I again contact Expedia and again put on hold for a significant period before I was eventually answered with it may take up to six months to credit your account. ARE YOU SERIOUS! A complete contradiction on the email advice. You are happy to accept money for a booking 8 months in advance and then hold on to a refund for a period of up to 6 months. Absolutely atrocious. Why would I consider booking through this company again. My contact through the help line( what a contradiction) was just stonewall after stonewall making me exceedingly frustrated as I have to pay a cancellation fee and then wait exceedingly long for a refund. Unfortunately the way this process has been managed I am being to doubt I am ever going to get it. As you can see my rating at the start of my complaint is negative and I believe with good service reason.
DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA!!! THEY TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY, MAKE MISTAKES AND DO NOT PROVIDE YOU ANY HELP!!!
