I've just had to cancel all my UK bookings due to Conovirus travel instructions. All hotels except one were generous and cancelled - on wouldn't. After a bit of time, and some hotel BS, Booking.com provided a refund. The hotel didn't. Thanks to Customer Support in what must have been a very bus and trying time
Made a reservation. Received confirmation email. Arrived at the hotel and learned that the confirmation was not in the system. Had to wait 2 hours at the lobby till it was sorted out. Turned out that Booking undersold a room. Tried to downgrade me. The HOTEL itself intervened and gave me the room I booked for. All-in-all, a dumpster fire of an operation
